Lupine

Finally. My all time favorite wildflower is making its appearance in the forest near the house. I found these on a walk with the girls this morning.

I was struck by this contrast: soft flowers growing against and around a barbed wire fence.
While I was taking the previous photo, Meadow apparently thought I must want her to pose. So she did. Pretending to scout the hillside on the other side of the fence. You never know - there might be an elk down there.
