Icelandic wool

I recently returned to the DeMoss Ranch, to learn more about the Icelandic wool for an article. I took some photos. It was a dark and dreary night - raining hard - and the interior lighting was harsh, so I did the best I could.

As soon as Linda's rug made from Icelandic wool was placed on the carpeted floor, almost all the indoor animals came over to lie on it! This cat made it her bed within seconds, and her coloring was such a nice compliment to the rug and wools that I had to take her portrait.

This is just a sampling of some of the yarn spun from the wool, ready for sale. You can see the variety of colors that result, naturally, depending on the individual fleece of the sheep.
Linda has been experimenting with dying the wool, and showed me these examples, arrayed on the wool rug made of natural color yarns.
