Rainbow

It was a sign: go run, while the past night's rain keeps the trail dust down. This morning rainbow greeted us, reminding me that moisture in the air is a rare thing in summers here, not to be wasted.

I quickly loaded the girls into the car and drove to nearby Goose Creek trail. Having finally found a grass seed that had winnowed deep in-between the toes of Meadow's left hind foot, and removed it, her limp is cured. What a relief - for her and for me!

We ran about five miles, the girls bored because it's a trail we've used frequently during this summer of high gas prices and tight budget, but happy to be out. It's a trail with shade, good footing, and always some running water.

The looks on their faces are pure "Ahhhhh."
