Shark's Teeth

My roof has retained a thick blanket of snow for months now. The house was built to withstand the load, and it acts as an insulating blanket. With spring approaching, sun shining, and temperatures rising, it's finally starting to melt. The melting process has made for some amazing icicles. Sometimes I feel I'm looking through several rows of crystal clear shark's teeth when I gaze out a window at the view.

Yeah, I suffer from the view. Awful, isn't it?

Luckily, the girls don't walk or sleep under this portion of roof so I don't worry about the snow sliding onto them.

Photos: Top: the girls eating dinner in the Sunroom; note the three rows of icicles just outside the windows. Note also that the snow in the yard is compacting and is much lower (against the metal mesh portion of the fence) than just two weeks ago. No more worries about the girls just stepping over the top of the fence! Second: taken from where the girls were eating; Third: outside view of that portion of the roof and how the snow melts over the edge, forming the icicles; Bottom: Maia snoozing in the sun. Couldn't resist.
