Hunting is Hard Work

I think we humans fail to realize just what hard work it can be to sniff out and then chase those fast-moving and cunning forest creatures - squirrels and chipmunks. It can, on occasion, even require putting one's head INTO the critter's burrow! Snow dogs easily overheat, pursuing such instinctual impulses. Snow is the antidote - especially sitting on snow! You can just see Maia's relief in her expression.

This was today's outing: run up a ski resort mountain until the snow drifts became too big to cross, all the while keeping the ground-burrowing critters on their toes. Fun was had by all (well, except perhaps the woodland creatures)!
